About Bri Dezel
I know these sections are typically written from a third-person point of view but if you want to know more about me, I will share in first person…
My first name is Brittany and my middle name is Dezel, hence, Bri Dezel LLC and Bri Dezel Photography were born.
I’ve been doing photography for over (5) years. I started with fashion blogging because of my love for clothing and personal style. The first person I learned to shoot and edit well was myself. I used that time in my life to explore what I liked about being in front of the camera as well as behind it. Over time, I started gradually shooting other people. I realized I enjoyed being behind the camera and challenging myself to make other people feel comfortable with a camera in their faces.
A theme that you will see throughout my photography, whether it’s headshots, family portraits, or special events, is some nod to fashion. There will always be a glimpse of that in my work because I love it. I like to think that I can take any photo from any shoot I’ve done and put it on a magazine cover.
MY APPROACH
Portrait photography really requires an understanding and love of people. It is such an intimate experience to trust that someone will capture the essence of who you are in a way that represents how you want to be seen. For this reason, I believe in both me and my clients being as prepared as possible for their shoots.
Photography is a collaborative experience. When my clients book a shoot, I will include a mood board that aligns with the contact form they previously filled out.
The mood board will consist of the general shoot theme as well as a few poses for the client to keep in mind and that I will refer to during the shoot so that there is no guesswork when it’s shoot day. I start with the referenced poses until I see that my client is comfortable and then I get the natural shots that showcase personality so they have a selection of photos to choose from. Some will prefer posed shots while others will want in-the-moment photos. I could go on and on about this but I can’t give you all the game for free in a few paragraphs.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You can expect to be greeted with a song and interpretive dance before we start the shoot…
I am joking but we will have a great time. I believe in the power of preparedness so you will never have to guess what will happen on the day of the shoot because you will always know ahead of time. You will receive email communication throughout the process that details our agreement, time, location, mood board, etc. I also make myself available to answer any additional questions after the shoot is booked. After our session, you will receive watermarked images with instructions on the number of photos to select for editing as well as the expected delivery date.
I love what I do and my client’s vision is my first priority! I would love to capture your next moment or big vision.
